What happens after the insurance and investment plan is put in place? Customer service has become a contradiction in terms, but is really the measure of a professional. This is a real differentiator for us. Here are two real life examples:
First, in routinely preparing for a review meeting with a business client, we discovered that a large policy had terminated a year earlier due to non-payment, with no notice from the carrier to either the client or us. To make matters worse, the insured was now uninsurable. Using important carrier relationships, we were able to get the policy reinstated, without insurability required, subject only to payment of the last and current premiums.
Second, to confirm the beneficiary arrangements for a client’s estate plan, we collected and reviewed his legal documents. This was particularly important, because it was the second marriage for both the client and his wife and each has children from their previous marriages. Contrary to the client’s understanding and intent, the legal documents disinherited his children and grandchildren. We introduced a very competent estate planning attorney to redraft the documents to make certain that the asset distribution at death met his intentions.
